Otis
Otis

Meet Coach O.

Being born and raised in Brooklyn, Otis has encountered various people as well as training styles. Otis has always been into the physical activity lifestyle but truly pursued fitness for his own health benefits to help fight off obesity. Otis has now turned his own passion and discipline into an exciting task of assisting others to discover the fulfillment as well as fun in changing your health status. With his masters in exercise physiology from Columbia University along with several practical years of experience, Otis has the rare ability to take the complexity of the human body and exercise and delivery the information to his “students” in an appropriate manner.

Otis has helped over 100’s ‘students” achieve their goals by merging post-rehabilitation and strength training concepts into effective and fun programs using pain-free methodologies. Otis believes that he is a coach and teacher more than a trainer since the process of change should be a side to side guidance versus a “follow me” mindset.

“Every person is different, and you must take that approach with every student that allows you to be their coach. They trust you with their most valuable possession, their body. That’s a big deal.”
Zainab
Zainab

Zainab comes to HOMEBODIES with ten years of Personal Training experience. She is a NASM certified personal trainer with expertise in one on one and small group training. She has a BFA Degree in Theatre Arts and Communication. Her style of training incorporates functional movement and offers practical education in anatomy, postural assessment, and
corrective exercise. My specialty is peripheral heart action training; utilizing TRX, BOSU, Free weights, plyometric exercises and closed chain kinetic exercises.

I have worked with elderly and post-natal populations. My excitement revolves around helping people discover intrinsically motivated goals. When folks identify motivations to exercise (other than aesthetic based paradigms) that’s when the real transformation happens. I’ve become inspired by the fitness milestones some of my clients have
achieved. Couch to 5K, Tough Mudder Races or sustained decrease in joint pain/pain management – name a few successes that I’ve helped people to achieve.

Dani
Dani

Dani is a NASM certified personal trainer who has been in the industry for over seven years, having started out in group fitness with specialties in Zumba, barre, and HIIT. She is a 3-time marathoner (currently training for marathons # 4 and 5), and she uses her experience to assist new runners or implement running when applicable to a client. Also an actor and performer with a BFA from Hofstra University, Dani brings a ton of character to every session.

Dani believes in fostering a love of fitness in clients who can learn to appreciate the things their bodies can do without making the sole focus numbers on a scale. Instead, she aims to provide fun, engaging workouts that are challenging while setting realistic and healthy goals. She understands that no two clients are the same, and her favorite part about developing programs for people is getting to be creative and finding what best suits the individual- whether that's a workout that leaves them dripping sweat and exhausted or functional training where they barely realize that the dancing or playing they did was in fact exercising!

Dani really loves being part of someone's journey towards health and wellness, both physical and mental.
Omar
Omar

Omar has been training for about 21 years (college included). He has an Associate's in Exercise Science and used to play football, baseball, and box, but his favorite sport was basketball. He broke his foot right after high school and ended up rehabbing it himself because he didn't receive quality health care. This was a blessing in disguise. It ignited his passion for health, fitness, and wellness. He went back to college and graduated, became a certified personal trainer with ACE, NASM, and passed his CES. From that point, he became a Fitness Manager with NYSC and was promoted to District Manager by the time he was 26.

His mission statement is " be proactive, not reactive" because he believes it is important to be proactive in life, not just when working with clients. In his experience, most people need pre-habilitation, especially when they sit at a desk all day. His goal is to get them to move in every direction and plane of motion! To reset them and reconnect them with themselves!
